Golden

Mixed media on paper. The portrait is done in watercolour and ink, and gold leaf surrounds the subjects. This painting is based upon a photograph taken by Margaux Besnier in Namibia. The title, Golden, reflects the dignity of this mother and her child, and that golden is the best-suited adjective for their skin colour. The use of gold leaf is used to  celebrate the mother-child bond, shared and understood by the entire human race.
